Orchestre national d’Île-de-France
Theme : to compose a Heroic Fantasy for orchestra
Diffusion Alla Breve on France Musique (Radio France)
This 4th competition is opened to composers under 32 years old on January 1st 2016, from any country and enrolled in composition and/or orchestration training program in the European Union within the five last years.
Applicants must write two movements, two minutes each, of a five movements Heroic Fantasy for orchestra before September 1st 2015.
The selected candidates will compose the three others movements of this Fantasy (10 minutes each).
The work will be performed by the Orchestre national d’Ile-de-France and broadcast on radio as part as the show Alla Breve.
Jury will be led by Enrique Mazzola, the Music Director of Orchestre national d’Île-de-France and the competition’s patron Bruno Letort (composer and Director of Ars Musica Brussels contemporary music festival).
It will be constituted by composers, musicians of the Orchestra and representatives of partner institutions. The public Finale round will take place on February 18th 2016.
